Why I meditate...
Because it allows me to understand the Relationship of Humans and Nature.
The relationship of humans and nature is one of symbiosis. We learn that from an early age in school. How is it that by the time we complete University we no longer understand this basic concept, or if we do understand it, choose to ignore it. We instead are inundated with advertising by pharmaceutical companies espousing obtaining fresh air through inhaling "Febreeze” (among many others), a chemical compound which if inhaled in large amounts will surely produce distortions in one's organic cells, i.e. cancer. How is it that we lose site of the fact that we like plants and animals are organic beings and can really only handle organic matter. Because we become arrogant in thinking that man is above nature.

The best way to open our eyes to the fallacy of that thinking is to meditate, because that leads to developing another aspect of our brain which allows us to get a glimpse of the gestalt of life, our interdependence on nature and each other. It makes us realize that children starving in Africa are us…not just think about it.

This series is about my experience and process in my meditative journey...
