BRILLIANT PEOPLE

11/18/2016

"Much of the time our mind is thick, with thoughts and emotions and cognitive content, but when focused on the breath or on some other object it narrows, gets sharper and more precise, and is increasingly capable of becoming aware of just that thin sliver of experience presenting itself in the present moment." —Andrew Olendzki, "Giving Pain the Slip

Brilliant people in science, business and every other field know this rule and use it in their daily lives. Nike CEO has a llama farm where he goes to catch his breath and focus on something other than his cognitive thoughts, of which he has many. After spending time with the llamas he unwinds and has a clearer head for more creative thoughts to be born.

Sometimes the best solution to a nagging problem occurs to you after a an exerted jog. When the solution is suddenly there without any effort on your part and that is because you made room for your right sided brain to kick in, your creative side.

Most scientific discoveries were made in the we hours of the morning when you were still dozy with sleep and your thinking mind has not yet awoken. Ask Albert Einstein or Marie Curie-Sklodowska.

In other words to find your mind you need to lose your head.

FUN TO BE FOOLISH

Becoming foolish is fun because of the freedom it gives you from social expectations and self-cherishing. Also from competing, stressing, striving and putting on a good face. Becoming foolish is not necessarily acting the fool. It is a relaxing of your social conditioning, the freedom to take a more open and flexible view of the world. A birthing of a sense of humour about it all because you know that nothing in life is permanent. That happiness is transitory, as is suffering and eventually all comes to an end. Becoming foolish allows you to unattach your self from all that is supposedly so important, it allows you to glimpse the big picture.

Revolution

It is time to have a revolution in the world because we have become a culture of war, violence, greed and despair for the majority of people, the have-nots. The new revolution will not be achieved by any political parties or factions, it will be achieved by an about turn in the fascistic path we are presently headed in. Fascism needs war and it needs scapegoats to empower itself. These will eventually be found in minorities, and difference.
No one person or leader is the cause. They are the symptom of our present culture, the mirror. We should look deeply in it and decide to change our ways, our thinking, our actions before it is too late and we, like the comic roadrunner fall off the edge of the world because we forget to stop.

It is not too late, like there was a moment back in Germany when Hitler could have been stopped by bringing to bear just laws and holding him accountable to them. If we held all our citizens accountable, like Iceland did it's bankers, we could create a just and compassionate society.

Economics thinks only in one direction and we have to stop relying on what economists think because economics requires wars to continue towards its goal of financial success. We need economics to be replaced by "humanonics" and "earthonics" that place life above money.

We need to find a new way of functioning and sharing and cooperating in society that minimizes competition and fosters love for one another, that destroys classes and hierarchies and gives everyone a chance to be happy in their short lives. I know that sounds utopian and idealistic but all we need to do is get creative and try new ideas on and see where they lead.

Our anger and rage must be channelled in a positive direction one of creative action. First we look to ourselves, acknowledge what we feel, then come together to brainstorm a new way of being in this life, this earth, with each other.

Van Gogh and Toronto Art

Today I went to the AGO and saw Mystic Landscapes. By far Van Gogh's two major works stood out. They vibrated with life. My chest trembled when viewing them. I wanted to take them home and look at them everyday. I wonder if the millionaires who bought his work even know what they have.

Then I went to the Toronto best 65 artists on the 4th floor of AGO curated exhibition. Nothing stirred me whatsoever, not even my intellect awoke in any way.

Art is either alive and moves you or it is dead. Sad to say most contemporary art is dead. I fault the art powers and curators who don't know the difference between boring crap and real art. And no print or screen image you see of Van Gogh's work can portray what I am talking about.

Real art has the artists energy imbued in it and is able to convey it to the viewer even after they die.

WE ARE NOW LIVING IN THE AGE OF DARKNESS AND IGNORANCE

11/3/2016

According to Ancient Wisdom that did not see time as linear like we do but as circular or cyclical.

It is predicted by many schools of thought including Buddhism that we live in the last age, The Kali Yuga.

It is described as: "The final age that lasts only one tenth of the cycle, however, that is certainly long enough as it is the age of darkness and ignorance. People slide further down the path of dishonesty, with virtue being of little value. Passions become uncontrollable as unrestrained sexual indulgences and manipulations run through society. Liars and hypocrites rise. Important knowledge is lost and scriptures become less and less common. The human diet is now ‘dirty’, and people are not even close to being as powerful as their ancestors in the Satya Yuga. Likewise, the once pristine environment is now polluted. Water and food become scarce, as do family bonds."

All of which we see amply in our worlds now, dishonestly, lack of ethical ways of living, pre-occupation with sex, pollution, scarcity of food and water supplies due to greed of wealthy industrialists, who think making more and more profit is more important than life itself and are willing to risk all for an extra buck...that they don't need. There is a lack of empathy for people that are underprivileged or who don't fit into their clog roles in the big machine of society, like Van Gogh's art did not fit into his society, it had too much life, power, energy and soul. Soul does not make industrialists rich in fact it hinders the function of their well-oiled machines. Soul in the Kagu Age is an obstacle to their greed. It is a very dark time that we live in, in every facet and aspect of life.
