Van Gogh and Toronto Art

Today I went to the AGO and saw Mystic Landscapes. By far Van Gogh's two major works stood out. They vibrated with life. My chest trembled when viewing them. I wanted to take them home and look at them everyday. I wonder if the millionaires who bought his work even know what they have.

Then I went to the Toronto best 65 artists on the 4th floor of AGO curated exhibition. Nothing stirred me whatsoever, not even my intellect awoke in any way.

Art is either alive and moves you or it is dead. Sad to say most contemporary art is dead. I fault the art powers and curators who don't know the difference between boring crap and real art. And no print or screen image you see of Van Gogh's work can portray what I am talking about.

Real art has the artists energy imbued in it and is able to convey it to the viewer even after they die.
