Fashionably Dressed Canvasses...

I believe we all have a vocation (one) we have come on this earth to do this time around and we need to find it. If we do we will be at peace and happy, but it can't be forced. If we have come to be a nurse this time around and force ourselves to be an artist because it is cool, we will not be fulfilled or find true meaning in our lives. Einstein was also creative, as a scientist, it would have been a waste of his life to have started drawing instead I think, and calling himself an artist. He was an artist in his own field and did not have to draw and paint.

Because being an artist is so trendy now, everyone wants to jump on that bandwagon. especially with the advent of abstract art and teaching adults art after work, everyone can be an artist. Abstract art looks like it requires no skill and you can fudge it, so you have a glut in art and not enough people to see the difference between art and wall decorations.

In Europe there are still fine art specialists and people have to complete a masters program in an academy of art to be called an artist and they need to put in many years of solitude to develop a body of work that actually says something and has a reason for being. In America it is a free for all. Industrialists say if it doesn't sell it is not art, so real art is slowly choking to death, and what is emerging are fashionably dressed canvasses.

Spirituality and Creativity look alike but aren't the same. Both require discipline but Spirituality also requires giving up your ego, which Creativity doesn't. Creativity is much easier to embrace. So people have been doing yoga, meditation and various techniques meant to open up spiritually, also have grown in creativity. The spiritual road past the starting line of initial high, is a grind, meaning it's aim is to reduce your ego and give up all attachments and desires. Creativity is wallowing in joy and fun. So what do people choose...Creativity of course which they interpret as art after dabbling in it for a bit. All my yoga and meditation has led me to being an artist, they claim. That is BS. Yes you have developed in creativity but you still don't know what your life purpose is.
